Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup SunRice Long grain rice
  • 1/4 brown sugar
  • 3 1/4 cups milk
  • 30g butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • Fresh pouring cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 160°C.
  • Combine rice, brown sugar, milk, vanilla essence, in a lightly greased ovenproof dish.
  • Add butter and sprinkle cinnamon over top.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes or until rice is tender and custard is set.
  • Serve warm or cold with fresh pouring cream.

This recipe is BEAUTIFUL.I mixed the recipe at 20 min and again at 50 min. mine needed 60 min to cook in the oven. The house smelled beautiful. The pudding was yammi. I put some left over pudding in little plastic contianers, as i am the only one eating this. The next few days i put some in a bowl, added a little milk and a chopped up date you canadd you own fruit or leave the pudding as is . Then 30 sec to 1 min in the microwave. yam.I did not have pouring cream, it was yam without,but if you like pouring cream by all means use it . I am making an other lot tomorrow. The cold weather here in melbourne. It is good to come home to a nice bowl of the rice pudding. Enjoy everyone.
