Ingredients

1 cup rice
2 cups milk
1 cup cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1 tspn vanilla essense
2 tblsn butter
1 tspn cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Wash rice. Soak for 15 mins. Drain.
  • In a heavy bottomed pot bring milk to a boil add the rice, lower heat and simmer the rice and milk till the rice is soft.
  • When rice is completely cooked add the sugar, keep stirring till it thickens.
  • Add the butter and the cream, raisins, almonds, cardamom.
  • Pour into a glass bowl and serve chilled

Tips

  • Fruits like diced mango can be added to the mixture after it thickens.

Variations

  • Long grain rice like basmati used for best results.
